Neptune at the Shelter.
Neptune is a 3-year-old, orange and white male and he is beginning to
settle into his foster home! Essentially, he is part puppy with lots of
energy. The only time he walks, is when he is on a leash.
In addition, he does that very well.

His preference is to run throughout the yard most of the day.
In addition to that, he gets the zoomies a couple of times a day.
He is however, learning to spend more time with his family and pack.
I suspect he had a doggie door at some point in his short life.
He loves walks in the park with his pack too.

He does well with the cats, but, he still wants to play with them, and give
chase; sometimes they do not want that.
I have a gate so the cats can get upstairs, and he cannot follow. His
disposition is to play, not to harm them. He is not fixated on them.

Neptune arrived here with little to no indoor manners.
Previously, when he first arrived and was told "no", he would want to run
outside. We have had to build trust first, then correction. He is still jumpy,
and we are still a "work in progress", but he does not run to the back door
to get away now. The chewing on hands / pulling on sleeves has
diminished. He does have a lot of energy, and he is learning to be more
patient. Trust was his biggest hurdle to overcome.

Neptune has a strong desire to chew. He will need many toys for
entertainment, and safe items to chew on. I am not recommending that he
go to a home with small children since he is still learning to keep all four
paws on the floor.

He really is a sweet dog, and he wants to love with his whole heart; and,
because he is still learning so many good behaviors, he will need lots of
patience and consistency.
Happy-Go-Lucky Neptune has just arrived at his foster home,
he greeted foster mom and found the toy box.
