Hello Everyone!

HUGS!  Anyone want hugs??  I LOVE to give hugs!

My name is Maple but my foster mom calls me "Mama Maple".

I am 7-8 years old.  I am having my "big girl surgery" on 11/12.

I lived on a farm with Amish people.  My babies were all beautiful and I took care of them like a pro.

Now that I have been retired, (not sure what that means) it's my turn to find my family.

I have perfect house manners, I don't potty in the house, I listen to my foster family, and I even LOVE little human children.  They can walk me and I don't pull them at all.

My foster family tells me that I am the perfect dog except for 1 little thing.

I will NOT share my family with any other non-human.  I do not have any need for the cat or dog in my foster home.  The cat kinda looks like I can hunt her, and the dog is NOT allowed near me because I don't want to have any more babies.

My old family had me do 2 jobs.  I was either taking care of my babies or I was hunting.  Foster mom tells me neither of those things will be expected of me ever again.

I don't have a job!  I need a job!  I need a family or person of my own that I can keep near me.  I want my next job to be a companion, nothing more, nothing less.

I am 45 lbs, so far foster mom can only get me to eat chicken and rice.  I don't know what dog food is and quite honestly it smells like it's bad.  I don't EAT dog food, I eat anything my family eats.  I do LOVE dentasticks and any soft treat.

OK gotta go, Foster mom said it's time to go out!  There should be a link below that says adopt.  CLICK IT!!!!!  I'm waiting!!!

Hi All,

Foster mom here, Maple is the sweetest dog on the planet, she is the perfect for a 1st time setter owner.  She does not run if given a chance, does not pull on a leash and if she does a gentle tug on the leash and firm "No" bring her right back to your heels.  I have had setters my entire life, this sweetie is the most behaved and trained setter I have ever seen in my life.   Her only demand is no other pets. For her to come out of a puppy mill situation this sweet and well behaved is a miracle.  Small animals are prey (she hunted) and male dogs, in her experience, only want to do 1 thing and she is done with making babies.

She MAY settle down in time after her spay when it comes to other dogs however that is not guaranteed.  We hope she does, that will tell us that she is not worried about being forced to have babies, only time will tell. The youngest human that walked her was a 6 year old very petite girl.  She never pulled.

So if you are looking for a dog that is the perfect SINGLE pet, look no further!
